Cultivating Presence is a three-part class that combines neuroplasticity, mindfulness, and therapeutic principles. The material is conveyed experientially and theoretically, and is based on my training and practice as a mindfulness-based hypnotherapist.
The exercises are experiential. They facilitate somatic release, internal reconnection and emotional integration, and cultivate new insights, new body-mind connections, with greater calm and confidence.
A personal note from Hilary:
“What is remarkable about the form of hypnosis that I practice is the rapid and profound change of state that mothers experience from negative and hopeless to positive and empowered.
“My class offers a quick-course in the basics and a direct experience of this deepening process, so that you, too, feel renewed and positive. You also learn exercises to use with mothers.”
What is new:
A trauma-rewind technique that can be taught to mothers to bring relief from their birth or breastfeeding trauma and sadness.
We will practice a few processes from the Netflix film: STUTZ
The exercises that therapist Stutz developed helped actor Jonah Hill feel whole and worthy, quickly and profoundly. Although these “processes” were new to Jonah, they are common to various therapy forms. It will be a pleasure to see how they are useful for you and in our work with mothers.

Cultivating Presence - in the Heart of Winter with Hilary Jacobson
A Small-Sized Group for Individual AttentionYou will receive a copy of Healing Breastfeeding Grief, Recordings of the Visualizations in Part Two of the book, and a Handbook for the class with scripts and exercises for personal and professional use.
Anyone who works with mothers should enroll in Hilary’s courses; her books are library essentials. After the first online session, I had a different approach in my interactions with moms. When beginning a lactation conversation, first taking time to practice relaxation as a professional – and then leading the mother to calm—provided a deeper understanding of the situation at hand. Embracing the importance of touch for moms and babies together, I now mindfully approach mothers in the hospital or group setting to encourage connection at the heart. Nurturing ourselves and our babies is so important, and Hilary gently demonstrates how to help a mom in need transform her experiences to healing places. Such important work.
